When we work on residential projects, one of the things we should pay the most attention to is the needs of each individual. Creating personalized corners thinking about daily tasks or leisure time is a delicious obligation.
Having this permission as a basis, it is important to adapt the spaces in order to include what is really important for each person who will inhabit the house. I recently developed a project for a couple who had two major obsessions. Cook and read. Once we found the right home for them, it was very simple to assign functions to each of the spaces. The most obvious was to create an open kitchen with a built-in library. Hence, creating a romantic and relaxed place on the terrace that connected the kitchen to the outside was a magical moment.
Late dinners with friends, Nordic art and design were also fundamental in this couple's life. Karl spends his days between creative writing and his wine shop. Andrea lives between the college where she teaches and the pleasure of listening to jazz classics on an old Bang & Olufsen they bought in the early 90s. Nothing defines a sound like these speakers, she said between smiles. It was evident how much they both appreciated the small and wonderful pleasures of life.
Lisbon is the place we chose.
Portugal is the biggest little country we know. Lisbon has grown inside our skin since the first day we arrived here. They say. Working for happy and well-resolved people is the best thing that can happen to a Designer. Choose who you want to be, how you want to be and if possible where you want to live. The rest will come naturally.
